We are a community led camp where everyone can practise and learn NVC in a supportive environment, we are a supportive and relaxed community where you can go to as many or as few workshops as you want.

Feedback from a previous camp

“For me it was an amazing retreat, rest from cooking, home and daily routine,

I was among friendly people, who gave me their time and

knowledge and gave time to my kids too. This is so much appreciated.”

With two workshop slots a day, and multiple offerings in each slot it is a great place to learn new techniques and different processes, and if you just want to relax in a supportive NVC based community it is the ideal opportunity to do that, and even if you go to a workshop in every slot there is still plenty of time to relax and share your experiences with others.

All Inclusive

The financial contribution you make when you book is fully inclusive, meaning it covers camping, workshops and other activities, and we provide 3 meals a day plus drinks and snacks.

We believe that providing meals and giving everyone the opportunity to eat together increases the sense of community and gives more opportunity to connect with others and grow your NVC experience.

“A sense of community which I have never experienced before, and it felt incredible.”

Where Are We

The camp is held on the Festival Field at Top Farm ( https://top-farm ) in Norfolk, see the Getting to Camp page for travel information.

We are on a private field secluded from the rest of the campsite with our own toilets, kitchen, and dining area. We will have our own open roofed, but private, showers, and there is a fully enclosed shower block on the main site.

We will also have a marquee for the morning circle, and some frame tents and bell tents for workshops, plus plenty of open air space.

How Camp Works

We aim to be led by the needs of the community at camp.

The first full day will be a community building day to help people get acclimatised and start to make connections with others. And it is likely that half way through camp we will have an afternoon trip out to the beach for those that want to go.

We start each with a community circle where any practical issues affecting people can be raised, and then we have requests and offers for workshops and other activities for the day.

The requests can be for specific workshops or just raising an issue to see if anyone has a workshop or one to one session that might help, the offers may be in response to the requests or may just be workshops that people want to offer.

Requests and Offers do are not just for NVC based activities, we regularly have yoga, music, singing, dancing, games etc.

We have a tradition of inviting children/young people to speak first in the circle as they often struggle to be heard in comparison to adults.

Anyone can make a request or an offer. We will have experienced trainers offering workshops, and we encourage anyone who wants to to make offers of workshops or other activities, the camp has a tradition of supporting people who are starting out on their journey as a trainer, not only in giving them a space to offer the workshops, also there are trainers who can give advice, and people willing to support new trainers by attending their workshops and offering constructive feedback if requested.

The photo below shows a timetable from a previous camp, this years will be similar.

Real NVC

The camp is about much more than just workshops and structured meetings, it is a chance to be in community and hangout with like minded people with a shared interest in NVC, to make connections and practice NVC in real situations not just roleplays.

We will each be in an Empathy Group with four other people, this is a chance to be heard about anything that is alive for you at that time, and if you want, have people reflect back, and make suggestions about what you might be feeling, and what your met or unmet needs are. And a chance to support other people by listening and hearing them.

“Empathy Groups which are a godsend of

witnessing learning and support, a place to anchor myself”

There are two workshop slots a day plus empathy groups and evening activities, we encourage everybody to be in choice about what activities they do or don’t do.

Some people will only go to one or two workshops over the whole camp, others will go to one every session, going for a walk, having a chat over a hot drink or sitting round the fire can be just as beneficial as a workshop.

“So many beautiful people I met and connections I made”
